Digital Comic Book Design Concepts: 2019-Ongoing
This logo draws inspiration from the awe-inspiring Peregrine Falcon, renowned as one of the fastest birds on Earth, capable of reaching incredible diving speeds of up to 240 mph! In my gripping comic book, 'The Malignant,' a specialized military subgroup known as the Peregrines plays a vital role in swiftly and efficiently immobilizing or eliminating the infected. To achieve this, they utilize the cutting-edge BURST system, complemented by a remarkable carbon-strengthened blade called the Bainite, allowing them to deftly slice through the necks of the Malignant creatures. This tactic proves exceptionally effective, considering the infected's resilience to head injuries due to the malignant nature of the cancer-virus. Notably, the design of the Bainite sword draws inspiration from the renowned sculpture piece, “Bird in Space,” crafted by the visionary artist Constantin Brancusi.
“The Malignant” - Logo Inspiration
Malignant tumors manifest as aggressive and abnormal cell masses characterized by uncontrolled growth, invasion into surrounding tissues, and potential dissemination to distant parts of the body. Certain viruses, such as Herpes Papillomavirus and Epstein-Barr Virus, are intricately linked to specific types of cancers, lending an intriguing twist to the narrative of oncogenesis.
These tumors exhibit a formidable complexity, sustaining their growth by orchestrating angiogenesis to establish their blood supply and promoting intercellular communication to facilitate rapid proliferation. Within this comic, I delve into the intricate interplay between cancer and viruses, exploring the enigmatic realm where reality converges with the surreal, presenting a captivating portrayal of the dark tapestry of cancer biology as an infected individual.
