In 2024, a returning client invited me to reimagine the 2023 PHL cycling jersey, but this time granting me expanded creative freedom to fully express my design vision.

I chose a deep, vibrant sangria color, selected not only for its bold, energetic presence on the road but also for its ability to evoke confidence and individuality.

The jersey is sourced from a high-performance Italian fabric, combining durability with a luxurious hand feel, and designed by Giordana with a tailored, form-fitting cut that flatters both women and men without compromising comfort or mobility. Its geometric PHL pattern merges precision with modern aesthetics, creating a sense of motion even when stationary. The left-chest logo, an arrow, subtly honors Strava’s ethos of constant forward movement, tying performance, heritage, and storytelling into a single cohesive design.

Philadelphia Cycling Logo for Jerseys

Using the client's initial drawing as a foundation, I crafted a hybrid model that harmoniously merges the rhombus shape from the original design with a geometric framework influenced by one of Philadelphia's iconic skyscrapers. Moreover, I drew inspiration from the directional elements showcased in the logo of the renowned exercise app, Strava.

Due to my deep involvement in the cycling community, the creation of this logo holds profound personal importance. Crafting a symbol to embody the community's spirit has been exceptionally rewarding. It has allowed me to intertwine my passion for the sport into the project, thereby epitomizing the group's identity as they embark on their journey to Mallorca for a cycling event scheduled for late September 2023.
